thomas sadoski-2Sadoski started his stage career in theatre in his role as an assistant to Mark Ruffalo (Mark Rosenthal) in an Off-Broadway production the Second Stage Theatre of Kenneth Lonergan's critically acclaimed play This is Our Youth. This was the first of many productions with the company based in New York. He has appeared in a variety of Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, as well as many productions of regional theaters. Along with Alison Pill, he played the role Greg in Neil LaBute's The play Reasons to be Pretty at the MCC Theatre. It was a highly-acclaimed Off-Broadway play which sold out. In April of 2009, it was moved to Broadway where it was awarded three Tony Award nominations: Best actor: Sadoski; Best Actress: Marin Ireland; Best Play as well as three Drama Desk Award nominations: Best actor, Best Director, Terry Kinney and Best actor. [6] Neil LaBute credited Sadoski with the shift in tone of The Reasons to Be Pretty, which was a departure in comparison to earlier works. He stated: "His thoughtfulness and good heart allowed him not to go back to something that I've previously produced." My plays often end with a dark tone. I've always believed that that was the case in real life. there was always a hint of gray, but I was able to see other shades in the palette." He was the original Trip Wyeth character in Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities, for which he was honored with an Obie Award (and a Lucille Lortel Award). After a sell-out Off-Broadway show in November 2011 The play was then moved to Broadway and was named Outstanding New Off-Broadway Performance by the Outer Critics Circle. Sadoski was also seen on Broadway with Ben Stiller and Edie Falco.
