BellamyBellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young; February 19, 1970)[1] is an American actress, producer and singer. She is best known for her role as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama show Scandal (2012-2018). She was the recipient of the 2014 Critics' Choice Television award for the most outstanding supporting actress in an action series. Additionally, she was part of the Fox series Prodigal Son (1919-2021). Young began her acting career as a theatre actor. In 1997 Young made her Broadway debut in the role of Mary in the initial The Life cast. The Life. Additionally to making her Broadway debut, she's performed off-Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's musical You Roll Along (1994) or Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). 3][10] In 1995 she made her television debut in a recurring role on"awkward" NBC daytime soap opera Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. The actress was featured in two episodes of Law & Order, 1997 and 1998. The year 1999 saw her debut in film with a small role in the crime-drama Black and White and later she co-starred in various independent films. Young began appearing on number of television dramas and comedies in the 2000s. These included The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young has had more than 30 appearances on TV shows between 2000 and 2011.
