Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah (born in India) is a playback singer as well as an actress and musician. She is primarily an actor and a music composer for Tamil and Malayalam films. She made her acting debut with the Tamil movie Pachaikili Muthucharam and Malayalam debut with Annayum Rasoolum. Andrea Jeremiah grew up in an Anglo-Indian house in Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Andrea's father was a Madras High Court lawyer. She is the daughter of a research assistant who lives in Leuven, Belgium. Jeremiah was raised in Chennai and attended National Public School and graduated from Women's Christian College. Andrea began learning classical piano around the age of eight. She was a massive fan of geeks and wanted to be a psychiatrist. Young Stars, a Jackson Five-style band she joined at the age of 10, established her foundation in early music and singing. She was also a theatre artist in her college and performed in a variety of stage plays organised in collaboration with The Madras Players and EVAM. She also served as the Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea's career in theatre began by performing with actor Girishkarnad Nagamandala. In 2006, she appeared in a leo commercial with actor Shiva. In 2006, she starred in a TV serial which aired on Podhigai. Her roles have been seen roles in India. The brief appearance was in the final scene of Kanda Naal Mudhal (2005). When she sang a tune in Gautham Vasudev Menon's film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiya he asked her to play the main female characters in his upcoming project Pachaikili Muthucharam. The film was an adaptation of James Siegel's novel Derailed. The film features Andrea acting as Kalyani the wife of a homemaker who engages in an affair and then is threatened with blackmail. Andrea won the role of Kalyani when Simran Shobana, Tabu as well as other actors were invited to audition for the role. The movie was announced in the early part of 2010. In 2011, she agreed to play a minor supporting role in Venkatprabhu's multi-starrer Mankatha and it was launched in August 2011 Her Malayalam film debut alongside the Annayum film of Rajeeev Ratti by Rasoolum in the year 2013.
