Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat

Madekwe came from a multicultural family. Her birthplace was within South London. The mother of her child is English while her father is Nigerian. She grew up in a south London council estate and attended The Brit School at age fourteen. At the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned a BA degree in acting. As a student at the academy and performing in numerous stage plays, including King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.

In 2008, she was offered the Bambi part on the ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was in two series, 2 and 3. Madekwe starred as the lead character for How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedy released in the year 2008. Theatre credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe had her official US debut on the drama series The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes for The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge from February 2011. Madekwe was a regular on the drama series of Revenge on ABC in two episodes. The show was announced in May 2013 that she would quit the show after completing an appearance in the first episode of season three. She starred as Tituba on the show Salem from 2014 to 2016. Madekwe married her long-time lover, Iddo. They have worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he is also a part of the cast on the show Salem.
